Explore the bustling harbour town of Oban with its fishing boats and seafood. Enjoy time on your own to explore the shops, visit The Oban Distillery or perhaps the Oban Chocolate Company before heading off on the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to the Isle of Mull. On Mull we’ll visit iconic Tobermory with its coloured houses made famous by “What’s the Story Balamory” with a stop off at the beautiful Calgary bar with its white sands. Onward then to the Isle of Iona and its breathtaking Abbey, said to have been visited by St. Columba and lauded the “Seat of Christianity” in the modern world.

Tour Itinerary
Below is an example itinerary of the locations we will visit on a full day version of this tour.
Alistair will meet & welcome you oboard our luxury Mercedes vehicle and after settling in, we’ll head off for our first destination.
Oban is a pretty harbour town and is known as both the gatway to the Hebrides and the Seafood Capital of Scotland.
We will park up near to the harbour front and allow you some time to explore the promenade and its variety of shops.
If time allows, we recommend a visit to the Oban Whisky Distillery and the Oban Chocolate Company.
We will board the ferry to take us on the 45 minute crossing to The Isle of Mull.
The vessel has catering facilities onboard and we also highly recommend spending some time on the viewing deck to take in the scenery and look out for dolphins and whales as we cross the Sound of Mull.
For over 700 years, Duart Castle, the seat of Clan Maclean, has dominated the view to the Sound of Mull and Loch Linnhe with its huge curtain walls and solid keep. Open to the public, we will allow time for you to tour the Castle, explore the grounds and learn more about the Clan.
We will board the smaller ferry from Fionnphort on foot and take the 10 minute crossing to the Isle of Iona, birthplace of Christianity and resting place of MacBeth.
When on Iona, you will have time to explore the Island, its historic Abbey, the Iona Heritage Centre and its pretty beaches and bays.
Gin has seen an incredible renaissance in recent years and there are distilleries popping up all over Scotland.
The award-winning White Tail Gin Distillery in Tiroran is one of Mull’s newest distilleries to open in over 220 years.
We head up the west coast of Mull through its mountainous centre to the dramatic coastline and beaches of Dervaig and Calgary bay.
Mull is known for its diverse popultion of bird life including many nesting pairs of Sea Eagles since they were re-introduced. We will spend some time here allowing you to walk and explore, drinking in the wildness of the landscape.
The beautifully pretty painted harbour town of Portree is one of Scotland’s most photographed Hebridean locations and was also the backdrop to the popular children’s TV programme Balamory.
We will stop briefly here to allow you a chance to walk along the harbour and take in the sights.
We will set off from Tobermory back to Craignure for the return ferry to Oban. Following a full and satisfying day, we won’t tell anyone if you have a snooze.
